Search and filter contacts in TatvaCRM

Updated 31 May 2026·4 min read

How to find contacts quickly in TatvaCRM. Global search, per-field filters, saved views, and useful filter combinations for common business needs.

Finding the right contact among hundreds (or thousands) is what makes a CRM useful. This page covers the search and filter tools specific to Contacts. For the workspace-wide search reference, see Global search.

Type any name, email, phone, GSTIN, or company name. Results appear as you type. Phone numbers match in any format — 9876543210, +91 9876543210, and (080) 4555-1212 all return the contact regardless of how it was originally entered.

Filters

Click + Filter to add filter conditions. Combine with AND (the default) or OR. Each condition takes a field, an operator, and a value.

Useful filter combinations

What you wantHow to filter
Contacts I own, not contacted in 30 daysOwner = me · Last activity date < (today − 30 days)
Contacts in Mumbai with no Company linkedCity = Mumbai · Company is empty
Customers tagged “VIP” who haven’t paid in 90 daysLifecycle stage = Customer · Tag = VIP · Last payment date < (today − 90 days)
Leads from a specific source over the past quarterSource = Justdial · Created date between (90 days ago) and (today)
Contacts where the email field looks brokenEmail contains @ · Email does not contain . (rough sanity check)

Saved views

Build a filter combination you use often, then save it: click Save view at the top right. Name it (“Mumbai dormant”, “Top accounts”), and it appears in your sidebar of saved views — one click to apply.

Views can be private or shared with your team. Admins can mark views as workspace defaults — appearing for everyone.

Sorting

Click any column header to sort. Click again to reverse direction. Multi-column sort: hold Shift and click multiple column headers.

Showing different columns

Default columns are name, email, phone, company, owner. Add or remove via Column settings on the right. Custom fields can be added as columns. Save your column preferences per view.

Exporting filtered results

Apply your filter, then Export (top right). CSV or Excel. The export includes only the columns currently visible. Use this for taking a list offline, sharing with a colleague who isn’t in TatvaCRM, or bulk re-importing after cleanup.

Common questions

“I know this contact exists but I can’t find them.”

Three common causes: (1) your role’s visibility scope hides records you don’t own; (2) the contact was deleted — check Recycle Bin; (3) the contact’s record is filtered out by your current view — try clearing all filters first.

“How do I find ‘all contacts whose name sounds like Rajeev’?”

Use “contains” operator with the partial spelling. E.g. name contains “raj” returns Rajeev, Rajiv, Raj, Rajesh, Raja. Useful when you’re not sure of spelling.
